Reds, Cubs and Rain

Great American Park witnessed a different baseball game when Reds boosted by power and showers defeated Cubs in presence of thousands of fans. The Cincinnati Reds played for their final home series of the season Friday night with a rain-shortened 4-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs. The loss plunged Cubs to 62-92. The Chicago Cubs have been as many as 31 games under .500 in another daunting season. Their $94.8 million payroll on opening day was the third-biggest in the NL, trailing the Mets and Dodgers. This will fall as their third 90-loss season in seven years. They lost 95 games in 2002 and 97 in 2000. Chicago was unfortunate this season, Cubs performance was predictable but fans had high hopes from White Sox. But it seems both teams of Chicago will go for winter vacation.
