Cardinals have bought the ticket for their third tour to playoffs. All credit goes to Chris Carpenter, who shook off from a wobbly first inning to smooth sailing over the next six on Sunday night. Chris has surprised, I must say impressed everyone the way he turned the game in his team’s favor. St Louis made it from the worst to the best, tackling with the unpleasant option of a flight in the morning to play an important game, the Cardinals overcame a first-inning pratfall by their signature starting pitcher to secure a 6-2 win over the San Diego Padres, and with it their third first-round series in as many years.
Cardinals has won six of its seven trips to the NLCS, winning 20 of 25 games, and will play for the National League pennant for the sixth time in 11 years under manager Tony La Russa. St. Louis has gone 1-4 in division championships under La Russa, winning in 2004 against Houston. New York took the 2000 series, four games to one. Team is in high spirits “Right now it feels like it’s never going to end,”, I hope it will never end.
