Cardinals propelled the big break in Game 1. But I believe the Cards have the potential to beat the Mets, maybe should have beaten the Mets in Game 1 of the NL Division Titles. Cardinals manager Tony La Russa thinks the Mets’ offense is so powerful that the key to success will be the St. Louis offense, which has stammered at times. I still strongly believe that the Cardinals can easily beat the Mets, infact my whole city, St. Louis trusts its team.
Do you need the testimonials? See Jeff Weaver’s performance. Right-hander Jeff Weaver alone had bewildered the Mets by pitching aggressively and raising his arm angle to achieve better against their left-handed hitters. He got ahead 0-2 on Carlos Beltran, a switch-hitter batting from the left side, but Beltran battled back to 2-2, then drilled a fastball off the right-field scoreboard. Catcher Yadier Molina had set up outside, and Weaver had gone in. Mistake Ball game. If Jeff’s one man army can do wonders, then imagine if the whole team plays with the same spirit, what would the Cards do?
Ultimately, after certain goof ups, the Cardinals has registered their name for playoff series. I wish luck and laurels to the Cardinals.
