Yankees traded Wright to Orioles

New York Yankees acquired Jaret Wright for $21 million on a 3 years contract, but they traded him to Baltimore Orioles with $ 4 million for rookie reliever Chris Britton for 2007 season. Now, the Orioles will pay Wright rest $3 million for next season. Thirty year old, Jaret Wright, is the second oldest and second-highest paid pitcher on the Baltimore’s roster.
If the Yankees had not appointed him, Wright would have become a free agent. And the Orioles had to sign him under that scenario, but competing for him would have become a difficult task. Now, Wright’s presence will help in rounding the rotation of Baltimore.
Wright joins Benson, and starter Erik Bedard, Daniel Cabrera and Adam Loewen in Baltimore’s rotation. Wright has made more than 20 starts in a season just four times since then, but he’s still young enough to add some more feathers to add in his crown.
