Guerrero Doesn’t Need Knee Surgery, Martinez Is Also Recovering

Vladimir Guerrero’s throbbing right knee that troubled him during last season is better now. He doesn’t need to undergo knee surgery.
Guerrero, a 30-year-old Dominican native, batted .329 with 33 home runs and 116 RBIs last season. He managed to play in 156 games regardless of pain in his knee. The AL MVP in 2004 said he was pleased with the Angels offseason activity, including the attainment of first baseman Shea Hillenbrand.

Earlier Angels were considering surgery, but it wasn’t necessary because Vladimir showed signs of good recovery.
Along with Guerrero, New York Mets pitcher Pedro Martinez is also recovering well from rotator cuff surgery, but the ace right-hander still doesn’t plan to return to the mound until July or August.
