Left-hander Neal Cotts and the Chicago Cubs have settled on a one- year, $825,000 -deal that comes six weeks after he was acquired in a trade from the White Sox. Cotts made $400,000 last season when he struggled out of the bullpen for the White Sox. Cotts’ agreement holds an interesting clause, if he is named World Series MVP, he will be rewarded with $150,000. Cubs won their last World Series Championship in 1908, so they are ready to go any lengths for better place in MLB.

Neal Cotts
Cotts was 4-0 with a 1.94 ERA in 69 games during the championship run of the White Sox in 2005 and was the winning pitcher in Game 2 of the World Series against the Huston Astros. But he went 1-2 with a 5.17 ERA in 70 games last season. He gave up 12 homers, after yielding just one in 2005.
I wish 26 year old Cotts do wonders for Chicago Cubs.
