No one ever hauled up for Padres president Sandy Alderson of being inhibited or scared by much of anything, including condescending expectations. A third successive National League West title evidently is in Alderson’s sights as he trains to escort the San Diego reliant to Peoria, Ariz.
Last season, Padres moved up from 82 wins to 88 wins and this year their aim in the offseason is to achieve from 88 wins to 95 to 100. To stand up to the expectations, the club has already prepared a strong team by adding experienced players like Greg Maddux and David Wells to the rotation. Wells will make 27 starts with equipped Alderson and Towers with the conviction they’ve taken convincing step without enticing the middle-of-the-order menace they primarily had targeted.

The Padres believes in their players, they won’t be as hurried with Roberts and Barfield gone, but he thinks added muscle at third base and in left field can balance for weaken speed.
So, let’s wait and watch would Padres play up to the expectations or not?
