Fun in the sun has started with the opening of spring training. With the tang of recently scythed grass, the feel of a tepid, soft waft and the unique sound of a baseball smashing into a glove for the first time in several months has brought immense pleasure for the teams and fans. Say goodbye to winter and hello to the sun and fun that is Florida and Arizona in mid-February.
Teams from snow masked northern most part of the country Yankees and Nationals welcome their players to a new season with all new challenges and aims for spring training. For the time being, the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies will also report on Wednesday. Whereas the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Angels, Seattle Mariners and San Francisco Giants hop on the training grounds on Thursday.
