McCann Will Stay With Braves For Another Six Years

Brian McCann, Atlanta Braves All-Star catcher, has spent most of his baseball career years in Atlanta and it seems he still has plans to play with the team for another six years. McCann has agreed to play with the club till the end of 2012 on a contract of $27.8 million. The contract also includes an option for the 2013 season.
Braves has offered their 23 year old catcher with maximum amount that has ever been incorporated in any contract with less than 2 years of job. The six-year, $23.45 million contract Grady Sizemore agreed with the Indians during last season was the most economically rewarding deal ever presented to a player with less than two years of Major League service time.

Brian McCann
In spite of the fact that Braves has never offered a long-term contract to any player till they have finished their arbitration-eligible years, Atlanta started contract-extension discussions with both McCann and outfielder Jeff Francoeur in the starting of March.
In an atypical move, McCann also appealed that the deal allows the prospect for the 2012 season to be transformed into a club option. This generous move was made to let the Braves have some elasticity in an episode that he is not capable to persist to perform up to his expected levels.
