When asked about the closer when spring Training started, Marlins didn’t have any answer to this question, and they are still undecided on this position. Although, the team has abundant potential options, but none has been appointed till now.
The situation is slowly becoming transparent, and the prime candidates are hard-throwing Matt Lindstrom, Henry Owens and veteran Kevin Gregg. The Marlins are examining trade possibilities for a veteran, and there is an opening for former Marlins closer Armando Benitez. This veteran may wrap up in Florida once more. The Giants are mulling over moving Benitez, and the Marlins have interest. Jorge Julio from Arizona also has fair chances.

Armando Benitez
If the club selects from within, they will convicting some novel possibilities. Twenty seven year old Lindstrom has never pitched above Double-A. Owens from the same age group has experienced just three games in the Major League, and Gregg, 28, has played in 125 Major League games and has one big-league save.
Well, I personally believe Marlins should go with the experience. So, let’s see who is going to be the ‘CLOSER’.
