Young Fausto Carmona is already having a good season, with five consecutive wins under his belt already, the phenom Cleveland Indian look’s like he is out to have a hell of a season. Carmona helped the Indians defeat the Minnesota Twins 2-0, and winning the Twins in all three games in the series.
Minnesota’s pitcher and two-time Cy Young Award Johan Santana was out pitched for the second time this season, making Carmona the first pitcher since 2004 to beat Santana twice. The first record was held by Jon Garland of Chicago. In Fausto’s last five starts, he has garnered 5-0 with a 1.38 ERA, dropping his season ERA to 2.55, which is the sixth-best mark in the American League. All this from a pitcher who is meant to be a fill in, first for taking the rotation spot of Cliff Lee who is out with an injury as well as now filling in for injured Jake Westbrook.
The Cleveland Indians are now 14-3 at home, with two of those wins coming at Miller Park in Milwaukee.
