TIGERS FALL DUE TO THE RED SOX’S TAVAREZ

Boston saw the Red Sox take on the Detroit Tigers, with Julian Tavarez taking the lead in helping the Red’s take a 2-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers in the first game of a day-night doubleheader. Boston who has been having a pouring start due to the rainy days that the team has experienced in three of Julian’s starts this season proved to the fans that Red’s still have their Sox up.

Game day and no rain this time! The Red’s where out to prove that they hadn’t missed a beat, with Tavarez starting strong limiting the Tigers to four hits and a run over seven innings. The tough armed righty pitcher managed to only walk and struck out three tigers pushing his record to 2-4 while lowering his ERA to 5.59. Kevin Youkilis and Manny Ramirez added in more flavor with their runs helping the American League East leaders to take their eighth win in ten games. Ramirez also managed to gunner his 1,541th RBI which moved him to 38th place pushing him past Willie Stargell. Youkilis went on with his hitting streak in a career best of ten games.
