The New York Mets are having a heck of a season! They gave the Yankees a hell of a scare and defeated them 10-7 in New York on Saturday afternoon. This was the New York Yankees seventh defeat in the last nine games they have played this season and it dropped further down the ladder to 18th place out of 23, as well as placed them even further down on the American League East table making the Mets the new New York hotties of the season.

Bad plays from Jorge, Cano, Posada and Alex Rodriguez compelled the Yankees to a defeat by the New York Mets. The homers from David Wright made it even worse for the Yankees and helped captivate the Mets to their second Subway series win over the Yankees. This was the ninth win for the New York Mets in eleven games. The Mets have now won their last five series and are currently leading their National League standings.

Even on the rainy afternoon at Shea Stadium the Mets proved to the New York Yankees that they will shine as the new Kings of New York. The Big Apple gets to experience a new form of champions with the New York Mets having had the Yankees rule with the title for some time now.
