In his return from the disable list Oliver Perez, was already on the mould in pure form and managed to allow only two runs, six hits and six k’s in six innings which helped the Mets pull a win from the Cincinnati Reds and beat them 5-2 on Sunday.

The New York Mets managed to maintain one and a half games in front of the Atlanta Braves in the National League East division. Key note players like Jose Reyes managed to make a home run in Sundays game and showed why the Mets where ranked as the National League East leaders.

The Mets have won eight of their ten games at home. Adam Dunn managed to knock out a scoreboard panel with a long home run and Lastings Milledge who had just been called up from Triple-A’s made double home runs to cap a three  run second inning.
