MIAMI. Fridays 9 – 2 win over Florida marlins, pushed Philadelphia’s winning streak to six games. The win was not enough to move them to the top but brought to within two games of the Mets who are leading the National League East. The Mets beat the Braves seven – one in Atlanta. In the second the Phillies phillies, were up by one run, and ended the innings ahead by 4 runs. Mitres, Pat Burrell were the stars of the innings.
Philadelphia’s Kyle Kendrick, took a fastball to his right shoulder. Two batters soon after, Mitre thumped Chase Utley to oblige in a run, and Pat Burrell added a sac fly later in the inning to take the score to 5-0. Kendrick held firm and didn’t appeared to be have been unnerved by the hit. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings to win his third straight start.
