MARK MULDER TO UNDERGO ANOTHER OPERATION

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Mark Mulder has struggled in his three starts this September after recovering from rotator cuff surgery, and will now undergo another operation that will put him out for the rest of the season. On Wednesday night the Cardinals released a statement saying that an MRI scan showed that Mulder had not fully recovered from the surgery. Dr. David Altcheck, the team physician for the New York Mets who operated on Mulder last September, and Dr. George Paletta, the Cardinals’ team physician, both recommended arthroscopic surgery to remedy the situation. The surgery is scheduled for Monday and thereafter a month of rehabilitation. The MRI scan was conducted and as well as a nerve condition study after Mulder complained of discomfort
