Toronto Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays will be celebrating their 30 th anniversary in Major League Baseball this year. Blue jays belong to the Eastern Division of the American League. The franchise is based in Toronto , Ontario ; it is the only team in Major League that is presently based outside USA . Toronto Blue Jays became the first team outside the states to win World Series. Toronto 's last year yields have lifted fear about the team chemistry. Some major changes are made on the roster of the Blue Jays this winter in order to lessen the gap in the American League East. General manager J.P. Ricciardi made the most expensive draft of the year by signing a top starting pitcher A.J. Burnett, an All-Star closer and a Gold Glove winning catcher Bengie Molina. The Jays the moves persuaded with third baseman Troy Glaus and they hired a first baseman with star potential Lyle OverbayIt was believed that these new additions, each being a vital element of the team, may have fashioned a squad that lacks comfort but the results are completely opposite.

The five chief drafts have blended well with the other players of the team and the laid back approach of Toronto manager John Gibbons has made for a fun club. The Blue Jays couldn't reach the playoffs since 1993, when they won the second of two consecutive World Series championships. The new stars on the roster have intensions in fact they possess enough capability to put an end to the 12-year postseason drought. The changes have spawned thrill among fans in Toronto and propel the Blue Jays into the national limelight. Most notably, they may be a challenge for Yankees and Red Sox. Last season, the Blue Jays were tied with the Yankees in wins when a line drive broke Halladay's left tibia on July 8 and sidelined him for the remainder of the season. But the Jays still lack pitching depth of the Yankees or Red Sox, so they require some help either by subpar seasons or bad breaks to a few other teams in their division. Unfortunately the most expensive acquisition of the team A.J. Burnett has been put on the disable list due to his elbow injury. There is no damage to the elbow, but the Jays doesn't want to take any risk the key player of the team, after he endured pain in the elbow March 18, which was caused by scar tissue tearing. Other than Burnett, the Jays are remarkably injury free. But as soon as Burnett returns to field, he needs to take responsibility, step up his game and act like an adult.
