The Milwaukee Brewers are a Major League Baseball team which belongs to the Central Division of the National League. Brewers served American League for 28 years from 1969 to 1997 but after 1997 team became a part of the National League. The club is based in Milwaukee , Wisconsin . Brewers derived their name from the numerous Beer breweries in the area. According to baseball writer's association of America team's manager Nod Yost stands on rank five who is voted behind Atlanta 's Bobby Cox, St. Louis ' Tony LaRussa, Washington 's Frank Robinson and Houston 's Phil Garner. In 2005, club posted a remarkable .500 team record, the roster was supported by outfielders Carlos Lee (.265 32 114) and Geoff Jenkins (.292 25 86) and offense was helped by 1st baseman Lyle Overbay (.276 19 72) and Brady Clark (.306 13 53). The Brewers are young, but the prospective in the array is overwhelming. Kolb is familiar face and will help setup the closer but other then that there isn't much here to depend on. Turnbow posted a 3-0 record after the all star break and appeared as one of the more consistent closers in baseball. The Brewers are counting on him picking up where he left off in 2005. Brewer fans remain optimistic for the team in 2006 as organization continues to construct a quality team.

The Brewers and Cleveland Indians entered a seven player trade bringing first baseman Richie Sexson, pitchers Paul Rigdon and Kane Davis, and Marcos Scutaro to Milwaukee in exchange for pitchers Jason Bere, Bob Wickman and Steve Woodard. However, the Brewers registered their 8th consecutive losing season with a 73-89 record.

The Milwaukee Brewers after spending three decades at County Stadium began lobbying for new ballpark in the 1980's. More than a decade of planning and four and a half years of construction concluded in grand fashion on April 6, 2001 . President George W. Bush threw out the ceremonial first pitch. In the home opening game Milwaukee Brewers star Jeff D'Amico fired a strike to Cincinnati Reds shortstop Barry Larkin. The Brewers won the game by 5-4. Miller Park was build to replace Milwaukee County Stadium. Miller Brewing Co. bought the naming rights to the ballpark. Owned by Southeast Wisconsin Professional Baseball District and Milwaukee Brewers the stadium was built with $310 million of public funds and $90 million from the Brewers owners.
