Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers are a Major League Baseball team which belongs to the Central Division of the National League. Brewers served American League for 28 years from 1969 to 1997 but after 1997 team became a part of the National League. The club is based in Milwaukee , Wisconsin . Brewers derived their name from the numerous Beer breweries in the area. According to baseball writer's association of America team's manager Nod Yost stands on rank five who is voted behind Atlanta 's Bobby Cox, St. Louis ' Tony LaRussa, Washington 's Frank Robinson and Houston 's Phil Garner. In 2005, club posted a remarkable .500 team record, the roster was supported by outfielders Carlos Lee (.265 32 114) and Geoff Jenkins (.292 25 86) and offense was helped by 1st baseman Lyle Overbay (.276 19 72) and Brady Clark (.306 13 53). The Brewers are young, but the prospective in the array is overwhelming. The chief aspects of the team will be Sheets' health and the persistent development of youngsters like Fielder, Capuano, Weeks and Hardy.

If their evolution prolongs, Brewers can give a tough competition to all and can be in the deep of the chase until the conclusion, if the team manage to give a healthy competition to teams in their own division, especially versus the Cubs, Cardinals and Astros. Last year, Milwaukee was 38-41 versus other NL Central clubs. The club could have concluded the season with 90 games win and make the playoffs for the first time since 1982, though as the wild card. The Brewers hope that Bush will be a wise pickup. The pitcher turned around a poor 0-5 start with the Blue Jays and did thrash about in September as well, but the Brewers are optimistic, a change in outlook will aid him. The team's starters ranked sixth in the NL with a 4.02 ERA last year and the staff should be improved. Expectations are high from Koskie, it is hoped that he will do well in his new uniform. His RBI totals in particular should increase with more consistent playing time. The pitcher to watch will be Capuano. His 18 wins and 35 game starts really anchored the rotation in 2005. The Brewers are expecting he will become a justified ace to fabricate their rotation around. Kolb is familiar face and will help setup the closer but other then that there isn't much here to depend on. Turnbow posted a 3-0 record after the all star break and appeared as one of the more consistent closers in baseball. The Brewers are counting on him picking up where he left off in 2005. Brewer fans remain optimistic for the team in 2006 as organization continues to construct a quality team.
