The St. Louis Cardinals are a Major League Baseball team based in St. Louis , Missouri . The club belongs to Central Division of the National League. Only some teams flaking a 100-plus win season will mark as many transformations as the Cardinals. The franchise will start up the season in a new stadium and has made changes to each phase of the team, both pitching and hitting. This time Cardinals don't possess the star power of the 2005 team as they decided to move in a different direction. Centerfielder Jim Edmonds will be encircled by two new appearances, Larry Bigbie captures in left while Juan Encarnacion will host down right. St. Louis required two new outfielders a season that saw veterans Larry Walker and Reggie Sanders both to miss almost an entire season. Junior Spivey is the new guy in the infield, taking over for Mark Grudzielanek. Top of the rotation and middle of the lineup, it's really basic and plain for the team as they call for their big names to show up. The strength of the Cardinals is CY Young winner Chris Carpenter to host the rotation at the top.
Another presentation even close to his 2005 appearance, and the Cardinals should be in good form. Number 2 pitcher Mark Mulder had a firm first season in the National League and is stepping in the walk year of his contract. Plunging for a new contract might be the inspiration, but better knowing the league and the hitters a year out from his trade to the Midwest may also serve Mulder well. If Carpenter and Mulder have solid seasons at the pinnacle, and the rest of the group (Jason Marquis, Jeff Suppan, Sidney Ponson and Anthony Ryes) is their distinctive concrete, the rotation will again prove to be a major strength. The Cardinals are fundamentally the same type of team with different recruits. The Club will also gain from the arrival of third baseman Scott Rolen. The six-time Gold Glover participated in just 56 games throughout the 2005 campaign because of surgery on his left shoulder. A healthy Rolen makes last year's MVP, Albert Pujols, that much scarier. The Cardinals has no uncertainty in proceeding the season along with no major conspicuous failings. St. Louis did a good job in substituting its departed outfielders but an injury to Edmonds would make the road to the World Series a bit bouncy. The cardinals are on their way to success, team recorded 105 wins in year 2004 and had a mediocre season but the team is optimistic for the new season with a new stadium at Busch Stadium.
