Ameriquest Field Stadium

Ameriquest Field in Arlington is a beautiful baseball-only facility located in Arlington , Texas . The Texas Rangers play at The Ballpark in Arlington . Inaugurated in April 1994, the ground-breaking ceremony of the stadium was held on April 2, 1992 . The City of Arlington approved the funds for the construction of new stadium in 1991. Ameriquest Field in Arlington completed in just 23 months. It is a modern building that offers utmost care in customer convenience. Originally named the Ballpark in Arlington , Ameriquest Field in Arlington was constructed to replace Arlington Stadium. An exhibition contest between the Texas Rangers and the New York Mets inaugurated the ballpark. The first official game took place on April 11, 1994 against the Milwaukee Brewers. The ballpark hosted Major League Baseball All Star Game in 1995. On June 12, 1997 , the ballpark hosted first interleague game ever in baseball when the Rangers played the San Francisco Giants. On May 11, 2003 Rafael Palmerio blasted his 500th homerun

The Rangers started lobbying for a new stadium in the late 1980's. On October 24, 1990 , the Texas Rangers and the City of Arlington signed an agreement to build a new stadium. The beautiful baseball-only facility is a pride and joy of the city and is also considered to be an entertainment giant in the Southwest. It has been called the best baseball facility in the major leagues. Built at the cost of $250 million, the stadium has the seating capacity of 49,166. It is an open-air ballpark that was designed and built keeping tradition and intimacy in mind. The façade of the facility is made of granite and red brick. More or less, many ideas have been derived from other bygone ballparks. The playing territory is asymmetrical and consists of Bermuda Tifway 419. Texas architecture is featured throughout, from the outer facade to the Lone Stars in the concourses and on the seat aisles. The 49,166 green seats in the five tier stadium extend from behind homeplate down to the right field foul pole, and down to and around the left field foul pole to an office complex in centerfield. All of the seats in the ballpark are angled towards home plate. The upper deck is the furthest from the action in major league history. The left field wall consists of a 10 foot high manual scoreboard. Located in right field is a double decked, covered homerun porch. A four story office complex is located beyond centerfield, with a message board on top. Bleachers from old Arlington Stadium, wrap around the outfield to a grassy incline in centerfield. The ballpark has 120 luxury suites on two levels, in which each suite is named after a MLB all-star player. The interior of the ballpark consists of four Service Level (houses the clubhouses, maintenance, and concession storage areas while providing vehicle access to the field in the left field corner), Main Concourse (serves the lower deck), Club Concourse, and Upper Concourse. The ballpark has Main scoreboard on roof of home run porch in right field, Black and white matrix message board located on roof of office building in straightaway center field, Manual scoreboard located on the left field wall, SportsTicker board located on upper wall under Diamond Club in left field and two auxiliary scoreboards. There are a total of 75 fixed concession stands on the three concourses. One of the signature features of Ameriquest Field in Arlington is the four-story office building that surrounds the structure from left center to right center fields. Nine different parking lots enclose Ameriquest Field in Arlington and are named after different Texas historical figures. Bronze statues of Tom Vandergriff and Nolan Ryan are put up in Vandergriff Plaza .

The Ballpark includes The Legends of the Game Baseball Museum and Children's Learning Center , a facility that is the only one of its kind in professional sports. The stadium also has the Dr Pepper Youth Ballpark, Grand Slam Gift Shop, Friday's Front Row Grill, and the Bullpen Cafe. A brick Walk of Fame, containing information and rosters of every Texas Ranger team span the entire ballpark. There are also a large number of party and reception facilities available for rental in both. The playing surface is 22 feet below street level.

On May 7, 2004 , Ameriquest Mortgage Company purchased the naming rights to the ballpark for $75 million over 30 years.
