The Minnesota Twins is one of he popular teams of baseball that is a part of the major league. The team came into existence in 1894 as Kansas Blues in Kansas City , Missouri . It is presently based in Minneapolis , Minnesota and belongs to the Central Division of the American League. A large number of Awards and honors are attached to the name of the team. These awards include the titles of the high valued the World Series etc. the team has collected the longest string of winning seasons since moving to the Minnesota. In 2001 the team has registered the score of 85-77 whereas in 2002 the score was seen to be as 94 verses 67 in 2003 they registered the score of 90-72 and in 2004 they made 92 over 70. The Twins prior coming to the Minnesota captivated the World Championship in 1924, in 1925 they took away the AL Championship Senators. The team created an intense rivalry with the Chicago White Sox in recent years starting from the 2000 when the Sox secured the division at Metrodome that got more intense in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

According to the sources the information is that the team has reassigned the left handed pitcher Dennys Reyes, catcher Shawn Wooten and infielders Luis Maza and Glenn Williams to minor league camp. In addition, 2005 Rule V selection Jason Pridie was returned to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and assigned to Durham (AAA, International League). The Twins now would comprise of 31 players in camp that includes 12 pitchers, 3 catchers, 8 infielders and 8 outfielders. According to the current roster there are many imminent players included in the team who are adding honorable titles to the name of the team. Killebrew captivated six AL home run titles and ranks in the top ten on the all-time home run list with 573. Carew was named as the best pure hitter of his day and won seven leagues batting crowns and compiled a career average – among the best averages recorded in the second half of the 20th century. The Twins are expected to poise a strong performance in 2006. The Twins finished the 2005 regular season with a .512 win average, placing them at the middle of the American League Central. Cy Young winner Johan Santana and center fielder Torii Hunter, have recovered from the broken ankle that shut him down last July, and is expected to return back on in the team very soon.

2000 was the Twins 4tth straight 90-loss season in a row with a 69-93 record. At the plate, Matt Lawton after hitting .305 made his first All-Star team. With a .300 batting average Corey Koskie proved his batting skills once again. Jacque Jones hit .285 with 19 home runs and shortstop Christian Guzman led the Majors with 20 triples.
