New York Yankees

The New York Yankees , a Major League Baseball team, is one among two major league franchises that maneuver in the City of New York ; the other team is the New York Mets of the National League. The Yankees belong to in the Eastern Division of the American League since 1969. The Yankees have embodied a “dynasty" in professional athletics along with franchises like the Boston Celtics and Montreal Canadiens. The Boston Red Sox are the critical rivals of the Yankees, with the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry often measured as one of the most frenzied rivalries in all of American professional sports. It's been five long seasons that New York Yankees couldn't win a World Series championship. It is a serious matter of concern for the organizations. It is believed that nothing happening will happen to the team as team is been inconsistent and has lost the fan base that always supported the club. But it hardly bothers the team as they are still determined for their win in Major League. The Yankee still maintains one of the best lineups in the majors.

With Damon and Derek Jeter set to hit in front of proven run producers like Alex Rodriguez, Gary Sheffield, Jason Giambi, and Hideki Matsui, the offense could be in position to put up some historic numbers. The Yankees took a more serene approach to their problems, tuning the roster instead of refurbishing it. New York did address its most glaring needs; a factual leadoff hitter and help for star closer Mariano Rivera in the bullpen. The accumulation of centerfielder Johnny Damon furnishes the Yankees an influential table setter at the top of the lineup and sores their brutal rival, the Boston Red Sox. In the Bullpen inclusion of the free agent Kyle Farnsworth and the acquisition of a couple of lefty specialists, Mike Myers and Ron Villone, should significantly upgrade New Yorks biggest weakness. All the teams have shown signs of improvement, Blue Jays have improved itself, Boston is always a strong competitor and even Tampa Bay and Baltimore have reason to be optimistic. The Yankees still feel that they are the team to beat and lead the Major League. From the end of the 2005 World Series to December 2005, the baseball world perceived that the Yankees were tolerant with signing free agents. On December 23, 2005, the Yankees bewildered the baseball world by signing center fielder Johnny Damon from the rival Red Sox, where he was a brightest player of the team. Now the Yankees can prove their talent of being the best team in the Major League is by putting an end to the drought roughly after seven months from now.

After the departure of Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants to California

The Bronx is one of New York City's "must see" communities. It is one of the five boroughs of New York City located in the North American mainland, in the south of Westchester County. In 1898, Greater New York, a municipal government created by new legislation divided the New York City into The Borough of Manhattan, The Borough of Bronx covering the city and New York County, The Borough of Brooklyn consisting of the City of Brooklyn and several municipalities located in eastern Kings County, The Borough of Queens covering the Queens County and small cities and towns, The Borough of Staten Island covered the Richmond County. In 1914, Bronx County was created after shrinking New York County so it contained only Manhattan. Each borough elects their President, but their discretionary powers are limited.
